What we collect and why
ECO 180 collects information reasonably necessary to operate programs, support participation, evaluate learning, meet grant and legal obligations, and improve services. Depending on the program, this may include contact information, age ranges, attendance, consent records, activity completion, learning measures, feedback, and facilitator observations.
Youth privacy & choice
We seek parent or legal-guardian permission when required and age-appropriate youth assent where appropriate. Optional surveys, evaluation activities, and media use are not presented as conditions of ordinary program services unless necessary for safe delivery and clearly disclosed.
Our commitments
- Collect only information needed for a defined purpose.
- Do not sell participant data or use youth data for targeted advertising.
- Limit access to authorized people who need information for an approved purpose.
- Share external findings primarily in aggregated or de-identified form.
- Obtain appropriate permission before publicly using identifiable youth photos, video, quotations, or stories.
- Avoid entering personally identifiable youth information into general-purpose AI tools.
Storage, sharing & retention
ECO 180 uses reasonable safeguards appropriate to the information and the organization. Individual information may be shared with participants, parents, or authorized educators and partners when consistent with consent and program needs. Service providers receive information reasonably necessary for authorized functions.
Information is retained only as long as reasonably necessary for program operations, safety, evaluation, compliance, and legitimate records. Records no longer needed are deleted, destroyed, or de-identified using reasonable methods.
Technology & responsibility
Third-party tools support forms, communications, storage, evaluation, and learning. ECO 180 remains responsible for participant information regardless of the technology provider. Affiliated technology services are handled through organizational oversight and conflict-of-interest procedures.
Questions & requests
Participants and parents or guardians may request information, ask about consent, or request correction of inaccurate records. Contact Growth@Eco180.org. Requests are handled with identity verification and applicable record requirements.
The Executive Director oversees this policy. The Director of Grants & Development supports grant-related governance, reporting, and documentation. This page summarizes ECO 180’s policy; use the request information form for the complete document.
